We salute the volunteers and members of the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts who work hard to make a difference in our communities. All youth (under 18) Scout members in uniform are admitted free with paid adult admission (one Scout per paid adult, please). Come and enjoy trolley and track car rides, and learn about service projects and troop camping opportunities available at both museums. All tours begin at New York Museum of Transportation on East River Road and include a visit to the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum as well. The museums will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. PLEASE NOTE: If your entire troop wishes to visit the museums, please make a reservation so we are sure we can accommodate you. Railroads have shaped this country and our region for more than 150 years. Enjoy a day at our museums to learn the traditions of the past and the latest developments in technology. Interactive demonstrations will take place throughout the day, including driving railroad spikes, coupling cars together, 'hooping up' train orders, and lantern and flag signals. Operation Lifesaver will remind everyone about the importance of safety around the railroads. Enjoy a trolley and diesel train ride as part of your day! All tours begin at New York Museum of Transportation on East River Road and include a visit to the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum as well. The museums will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What's more American than trains and baseball? From teams using trains to travel from city to city, to baseball fans taking the train to the game, these two American traditions have been intertwined for more than 100 years. Come and enjoy trolley and track car rides while you spend the day exploring our two museums. Kids won't want to miss a visit from Spikes, the mascot of the Rochester Red Wings. All tours begin at New York Museum of Transportation on East River Road and include a visit to the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum as well. The museums will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

A hundred years ago, every city boasted a streetcar system that would easily transport you out of the sweltering heat to the cool breezes of a local amusement park. Bring back the spirit of those days with a visit to the New York Museum of Transportation. Enjoy an authentic vintage trolley ride through the pastoral coutryside at dusk. Upon your return, enjoy a small display of classic cars, as well ashot dogs, ice cream and refreshments. For the railfans and shutterbugs, contact us about a special 'Extra Fare' night photo session where trolleys and classic cars will be posed together! NOTE: This event starts at 4:00 p.m. and runs until dusk. Please note this is a TROLLEY ONLY event.

The railroads have relied on diesel locomotive technology to pull their trains for more than 75 years. Today's high-horsepower, fuel-efficient locomotives are more technologically advanced than ever. Enjoy a day at our museums learning all about diesels and how they work. Board the trolleys that will take you to a special extended diesel ride. Enjoy supervised visits in the cab and rides in the locomotive. All tours begin at New York Museum of Transportation on East River Road and include a visit to the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum as well.
